Muddie Trails has been running weekend trips and treks out of Bengaluru since 2016, with a second base in Hyderabad. Groups stay small, every departure has a trip captain on ground, and roughly seven in ten travellers book solo — so the WhatsApp group goes out three days before departure and nobody arrives at Majestic not knowing anyone.

Female trip lead, verified stay, and the group was respectful throughout. Felt safe the entire trip, including the night trek portion.

Sunrise was worth the 4 am start. Everything from pickup to drop was on schedule and the WhatsApp group before the trip made it easy to settle in.

Booked alone and knew nobody on the bus. By the second morning we were splitting breakfast and swapping camera rolls. Captain kept the timings tight without making it feel like a school trip.

Twenty-eight people is a lot for a small hill station. Everything ran on time and the stay was comfortable, but I'd pick a smaller departure next time.

Our trip lead knew every trail, every tea shop and every shortcut. Also handled a twisted ankle in the group calmly, which says more than any itinerary.
